Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has appealed the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja which nullified his election.
Wike is asking the Appeal Court to set aside the judgment of the tribunal, which nullified his election on October 24, 2015.
The tribunal in its judgment in the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dakuku Peterside ruled that there were corrupt practices with the Electoral Act in the April 11 election which declared Wike the winner of the election.
In the appeal by his counsel, Emmanuel Ukala (SAN), the governor established 26 grounds of appeal wherein he raised complaint against the entire judgment of the lower tribunal.
