The Ughelli Police Area Command has arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing her husband to death during a domestic fight after she accused him of engaging in extra-marital affairs. The suspect, Ese Eregarhe, 32, purportedly used a kitchen knife to stab her husband, who is in his late 30s at their Agbarha-Otor residence in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Confirming the incident, a senior officer at the Ughelli Police Area Command said that the suspect had accused the victim of having a string of girlfriends who keep him from coming home early. Giving details of the incident, the source said: “When he got home on that fateful day, his wife had an argument with him over his purported infidelity and a fight ensued, during which, according to the wife, she stabbed him on the throat with a kitchen knife while trying to defend herself. “He was rushed to Ughelli Central Hospital, but unfortunately he had lost a lot of blood before he could get the needed treatment and gave up the ghost with his remains deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.”
The suspect has been arrested and would be charged to court upon completion of investigation into the incident.
