US rapper arrested over ‘murder-for-hire’ plot

Lil Durk, popular American rapper born Durk Banks, has reportedly been arrested Thursday night in Florida and has since been charged with murder-for-hire.

Currently held without bond, Banks is in custody at Broward County Jail, awaiting transfer to U.S. Marshals, according to reports.

The arrest follows the detention of five other suspects earlier in the day, each charged with murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire.

The charges stem from the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson, cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, who was fatally shot in Los Angeles.

Authorities have connected the incident to ongoing gang disputes.

Federal prosecutors named the additional suspects as Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.

They allege that the suspects sought retaliation against Rondo for his suspected involvement in the 2020 murder of Chicago rapper King Von in Atlanta.

Lil Durk’s arrest has sent shockwaves through the music industry, with fans and legal experts awaiting further developments.

The investigation remains active as federal authorities continue gathering evidence in this high-profile case.
