Six men in Lagos were brought before the Ojo Magistrates’ Court and accused of attempting to steal after breaking into a property. The defendants are Salisu Musa, Awolu Isa, Sanni Ibrahim, Suraju Yunusa, Habibu Yunus, and Usman Musa. They faced five charges related to burglary and theft but pleaded not guilty.
According to the prosecutor, Simon Uche, the incident occurred on September 4 in the Abule Osun area of Ojo, where the defendants, along with others who remain at large, broke into a compound belonging to Chigbo Udezuruigbo. They damaged a valuable multi-purpose drilling machine and stole its parts, valued at approximately N5.5 million. The charges against them are in violation of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The defendants were granted bail at N500,000 each with two sureties each in the same amount, and the trial is scheduled for October 25.
