Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich and his wife, arts figure Dasha Zhukova have announced their impending divorce.
50-year-old Abramovich and 36-year-old Zhukova said in a joint statement Monday they “made the difficult decision to separate” after ten years together. Abramovich and Zhukova have two children and together founded the Garage, Russia’s most prominent modern museum of modern art. The two said in the statement that that they remain “close friends, parents, and partners” and will continue to work together on Garage and the New Holland Island cultural hub in St. Petersburg.
Russia’s edition of the Forbes magazine earlier this year estimated Abramovich, who also owns Chelsea football club, the reigning English champion, to be worth $9.1 billion. Abramovich had been married twice before and has five children with his second wife.
