A former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, has denied a Facebook post alleging him to have verbally assaulted his former wife.
Makinde, a former NNPC top staff where he reportedly met his first wife with whom he is now separated disclosed that he never posted such a story and did not authorize anyone to do so on his behalf.
The said hate post has attracted widespread condemnation from close and distant friends of the theatre practitioner-turned-politician with some positing that such a statement from him could do untold damage to his political life.
The politician’s former wife was said to have clocked 50 years of age this week and reportedly commissioned a new house to commemorate the date.
“The story was meant to portray me in a bad light. It was the figment of the writer’s imagination as I never uttered any destructive word against my former wife or ever wished her evil,” stated Makinde, adding that “My friends know that I am too refined for such. I am happily married to someone who is my angel and I believe the woman in question has also moved on with her life.”
