The village head of Ikot Inyang in the Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government in Akwa Ibom State, one Eteidung Stephen Uyoe, has been arrested by Police for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.
The command, in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Nnudam Fredrick, on Tuesday, said the village head was arrested on Saturday.
According to the statement, the village head bought beans cake from the victim and asked her to follow him to his house to collect money, where he allegedly defiled her.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect bought beans cake (akara) from the victim and asked her to follow him to his room in order to give her money.
“On reaching the room, the suspect grabbed the victim and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.”
