Former INEC chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, will on Sunday, 3rd of December, 2017, be honoured with Knighthood by His Holiness Pope Francis 1.
A message to this effect was communicated by the elated Prof to his friends on Monday, 13th of November, 2017.
Prof. Iwu wrote in the message;
“Invitation to my investiture as a Papal Knight of St Gregory the Great. 3 December 2017. By 10 am.
His Holiness Pope Francis 1 on January 25, 2017 admitted me into the Papal Order as a Knight of St. Gregory the Great. The formal investiture will take place on Sunday December 3, 2017 at the Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Okigwe, off Enugu – Okigwe express road. By 10 am prompt.
The Diocese has requested that I invite members of my family and close friends to this solemn event. Please be my guest at the Pontifical Mass and at a small reception in my village home at Umukabia. Prof. Maurice Iwu.”
