Haruna Garba, the Commissioner of Police, expressed concern over certain individuals who have been leaving the command’s emergency numbers with loan shark companies to secure loans. Additionally, non-state actors have been misusing the emergency lines for their own purposes.
The Commissioner of Police warned those involved in these actions to stop immediately, emphasizing that the police will take decisive action to apprehend and prosecute those responsible.
Furthermore, the statement clarified that a viral report about kidnappers wearing police uniforms to abduct 17 people in the Apo area of Abuja was false and baseless. No such incident occurred within the FCT (Federal Capital Territory).
The CP encouraged residents to cooperate with the police to enhance the quality of service provided. He also urged FCT residents to utilize the Police Control Room numbers (08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883) for reporting any suspicious activities.
