The management of Obafemi Awolowo University is currently investigating an altercation involving a male student named Gift and a lecturer known as Dr. Ariyo. According to reports from the campus, Gift, a 200-level student, accidentally entered a lecture room where Dr. Ariyo was teaching, thinking it was his class. When he realized his mistake and tried to leave, the lecturer called him back.
An anonymous student revealed that an argument ensued, leading to a physical confrontation. The lecturer even called security to apprehend the student and attempted to seize his phone. In a video circulating online, the student was seen struggling with a security official and trying to use his phone, prompting the lecturer to demand that he switch it off. The situation escalated, with the lecturer eventually throwing a punch at Gift while other students observed in surprise.
