A prophetess, Mrs. Folashade Adekola, based at Oke-Aro area of Akure, Ondo State has been arrested by the State”s police department over the deaths of a woman, Jumoke Adesuwa, and her newborn baby inside Adekola’s church.
The woman bled to death following childbirth complications, and the baby died immediately. The incident came to light when the woman’s brother reported the matter to the police after being informed by the church that the baby had died, but the mother was alive.
Upon arriving at the church, the family found the woman bleeding profusely and rushed her to several hospitals, but she was rejected at three before dying in the fourth hospital. When they returned to the church to collect the baby’s body, they found it in a room that did not appear to be a proper delivery room. This led to the prophetess’s arrest, and the investigation is ongoing.
