NDLEA operatives arrested Mr. Ilonzeh Kingsley Onyebuchi and Mrs. Ilonzeh Roseline Nonyelum at the Lagos airport. They were posing as a couple traveling to India for medical treatment, but a body scan revealed they had ingested 184 wraps of cocaine weighing 3.322 kilograms, and 100 grams were hidden in the woman’s private part.
Further investigation revealed they were not actually a couple, but they used the same surname to bypass airport security checks. The woman confessed that she was recruited through her church in Abia state and that she was promised $5,000 for successfully delivering the drugs.
The man, who was previously arrested for a similar offense, claimed he was promised $2,000. Both suspects were caught with fake travel documents. In total, they excreted 183 wraps of cocaine weighing 3.322 kilograms.
