It was a
double loss for Hafsat Badawa, a 17 year-old lady from Rimin Zayam in Toro L.G.A of Bauchi, as she was raped and impregnated, now the newly born baby, a male was also killed by Hafsat’s father who buried the day old baby alive.
According to the reports, one Danjuma Malam Uba had carnal knowledge of Hafsat sometime early 2020 now at large.
On September 14, 2020, the victim was delivered of a baby.
Her father, a 50-year old man named Audu Badawa took the baby(his grandchild) from her and buried the child alive at the back of his house in Toro Local government area.
“She said that her father, Bawada Audu, (50years) seized the child and buried the baby behind his house. Upon receipt of this report, the corpse was exhumed and the baby was rushed to a general hospital where it was certified dead by a medical doctor,” police said.
The corpse has since been exhumed, and was released to the village head of Rimin Ziyam for burial, suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime, says police.
