Safiyanu Kamala, a 50-year-old man has been arrested by the Katsina Police Command for allegedly impregnating a mentally retarded woman, one Ms. Islamia. Kamala, a farmer and resident of Jino village in Kankara Local Council, had reportedly confessed to the police that he was responsible for Islamia’s 28-week-old pregnancy.
It was learnt that the suspect was in the habit of luring the woman to his farm, where he had “carnal knowledge of her.”The victim, who currently lives with members of her family, had reported the incident to the police on December 8, this year, which led to the arrest.
