The Lagos State Government has given truck drivers along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway a 24-hour ultimatum to leave the road or face consequences. They have also stated their intention to seize vehicles and take legal action against violators after the ultimatum expires.
The Head of Operations for the Lagos State Special Committee on Apapa Gridlock, Mr. Hassan Adekoya, emphasized that they have engaged with stakeholders in meetings to stress the importance of keeping the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway and Apapa Road clear of trucks.
Adekoya assured that their enforcement team would restore order on Mile-2 Tincan Road, and they have called on union leaders to control their members within 24 hours. If not, they will begin towing trucks obstructing traffic, especially on Mile-2, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, as part of their commitment to reducing traffic issues in the Apapa area, as directed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
