Gunmen, suspected to be car snatchers, shot an E-hailing car driver and stole his vehicle in the Rumuokalabo area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This incident occurred shortly after the Commissioner of Police had paraded five suspected car snatchers who had targeted Bolt drivers.
An eyewitness reported that he heard a commotion in a vehicle, saw the driver being attacked, and then heard gunshots before the assailants fled with the car. The injured driver was rushed to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital for treatment. The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, was expected to provide more information but had not done so at the time of this report.
