A 59-year-old artisan named Eze Chukwuma has been sentenced to double life imprisonment by the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja. He was found guilty of defiling his two daughters over a period of nine years, beginning in 2008 after the death of his wife.
The judge, Justice Abiola Soladoye, stated that the prosecution successfully proved the charges of defilement against Chukwuma, with corroborating testimonies from witnesses and the victims. The defendant’s admission during cross-examination further contributed to his conviction. The judge also commended the survivors and school authorities for reporting the abuse. Chukwuma’s name will be registered in the Sexual Offences Register of Lagos State.
