An 84-year-old man named Gabriel Uhuwa has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly killing his 75-year-old wife.
The reason for the alleged murder was his wife’s refusal to engage in sexual activity with him. The police confirmed the arrest while parading several suspects for various offenses.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, Uhuwa had been having ongoing disagreements with his wife about her refusal to have sex whenever he asked.
Uhuwa expressed that he believed his actions were the solution to this problem. He mentioned that he had reported the issue to their children and even one of his daughters tried to intervene, but his wife did not respond.
Uhuwa claimed he heard rumors of his wife being involved with other men, which added to his frustration. Feeling neglected and upset, he admitted to using a cutlass to attack and kill his wife. He expressed regret for his actions after the incident.
