The dreaded Boko Haram terrorists invaded Magumeri Local Government Headquarters of Borno State on Monday and razed down the only functional telecommunications mast before setting ablaze other infrastructural facilities.
The insurgents launched attack at about 4 pm, while the military airstrike engaged them, but to no avail, as the terrorists succeeded and infiltrated the Council Headquarters which make it difficult for the airstrike to engage the terrorists amidst innocent civilians.
Prior to this attack, some terrorists last week invaded surrounding communities of Magumeri and displaced hundreds of farmers and herders, after killing 6 other with an unspecified number of fleeing residents sustained gunshot injuries.
Apart from displacing residents, they also looted foodstuffs and domestic animals belonging to the residents.
