Banker killed, corpse dumped on roadside after kidnappers collected ransom



A female banker named Ifeoma Onyekwelu was reportedly killed in Anambra State after collecting ransom from the family, according to news on social media.

Report says, the deceased simply identified was abducted in Onitsha.

In several Facebook posts on Tuesday, it was gathered that Ifeoma was an easy going and cheerful lady who was recently promoted to a branch manager by Polaris Bank where she worked. Information gathered revealed that, the attackers murdered and dumped her corpse around Ideani junction, along Nnobi/Alor road.

Picture of a woman’s corpse on the roadside has flooded the internet with stories of how Ifeoma, a banker was kidnapped in Anambra State, ransom was demanded and the family paid but her abductors still killed her and dumped her body on the road.

A concerned citizen wrote:
“Lives are being taken daily and it’s sad nothing is being done to end all this k!llings. WHO IS NEXT? If we keep fold our hands and do nothing, it will may get to you”.

Also, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development, stressing that the corpse had been evacuated from the road.

Ikenga said, “The command received the information about an abandoned female corpse found along the Nnobi-Alor Road allegedly dumped by suspected kidnappers.
“The corpse has been evacuated, the pictures have been escalated and investigations have begun to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the victim.”
