Armed robbers invaded hostels at Rivers State University, sexually assaulting two female students and stealing valuables. The criminals operated without interruption, prompting female students to protest against the repeated attacks.
Some students criticized the university’s security response and claimed that security personnel might be involved. The police assured the students that they would address the issues, and the situation has been brought back to normal.
The state Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident and advised vigilance, urging students, parents, and the school management to report suspicious activities to the Police Control Room.
