Uche Onyeaguocha, a member of the Imo State Development Council (SDC), Obinze Ward, has resigned his appointment, stating a nine point-grouse, including the inability of the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, to follow due process, slashing pensions of the retirees by 50 per cent, impoverishing his appointees while he eats fat, among others.
In a letter to the governor, the former Adviser to Okorocha said he was emboldened to tender his resignation also because the governor wanted to impose his son-in-law, who is the Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, as his successor in 2019, and the governor’s alleged refusal to conduct local council election, since he dissolved it in 2011, shortly after he assumed duties.
The former member who represented Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives said, “A state that is incapable of paying her pensioners and other workers, her governor should not be moving around in private jet.”
He also accused Okorocha of underfunding their party, the APC, by his alleged refusal to assist in paying rent of the state headquarters.
