Navy officer arrested over alleged killing of ex-Chief of Naval Staff son

A Naval Personnel, Able Seaman Abdulrashid Mohammed, who was a Guard at the home of a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ishaya Iko Ibrahim, has been arrested by Police in Abuja for the murder of the son of the ex-naval Chief.

FCT Police Commissioner, Benneth Igweh said the Navy Rating had two Sundays ago, August 18, 2024, robbed Aminu Ibrahim, the son of the former CNS at Maitama, of the SUV and subsequently opened fire on him, killing him instantly.

Able Seaman Abdulrashid Mohammed who is 30 years old was arrested four days after the Police launched a Manhunt for him, at Apo Mechanic Village where he had taken the Prado Jeep to be sold and cannibalized into parts.

The Naval Rating who confessed to the dastardly killing, said he killed Aminu Ibrahim because he recognized him, having worked in their house as a guard in their residence, hence he shot at him point blank.

Unknown to Able Seaman, Police detectives were tracking the SUV and waiting for him to bring out the vehicle before they pounced on him.
