The accident on the Osogbo/Ifon/Oyo Boundary road, which resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals and injuries to others, was caused by the driver of the bus carrying final year students from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso. The driver initially collided with a commercial motorcyclist in Okinni and was attempting to evade pursuit by angry residents.
In the process, the driver lost control of the vehicle a few meters from Ojutu Bridge, causing the bus to overturn and catch fire. The excessive speed at which the driver was traveling, in an attempt to escape, ultimately led to the loss of control and the tragic outcome.
