In Tage village, Jigawa State, residents took a stand against a gang of armed robbers operating on the Hadejia highway. Their courageous action resulted in the apprehension of one of the criminals, while the rest fled. An eyewitness reported that the community members inflicted severe machete injuries on one of the robbers.
Jigawa State Police spokesman, Lawan Adam, confirmed the incident, stating that they had received information about the robbery on the Tage to Hadejia highway. Upon arrival, the police found that the community had confronted the robbers, leading to serious injuries to one of them, Abdullahi Abubakar of Hago village. The injured robber was subsequently taken to the General Hospital, Kafin Hausa, for medical treatment.
Furthermore, the police recovered live ammunition, an expended cartridge, and N37,000.00 from the captured suspect. An investigation is underway to track down the other robbers who managed to escape.
