A tragic incident occurred in Awka, Anambra State, where a young lady named Miss Chinyere Awuda was fatally beaten at a popular hotel during a birthday party.
The incident took place on a Saturday while friends were celebrating and spraying money on the birthday celebrant while he danced. Allegedly, the deceased was accused of picking up money intended for the birthday celebrant, which led to a violent confrontation.
The situation escalated, and a man along with his friends started physically assaulting the young lady. Despite attempts by other people at the hotel to intervene and save her, the beating continued. Eventually, they dragged her outside the club and reportedly dumped her lifeless body into the hotel’s swimming pool.
Miss Chinyere Awuda hailed from Nnobi, in the Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The police were informed of the incident, and the birthday celebrant and his friends were taken into custody for their involvement.
The hotel management cooperated with the police in apprehending the suspects. As of now, the investigation is still ongoing, and further details will be provided by the authorities in due course.
