On Monday, a tragic incident occurred in the Ugba community, located in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. Gunmen forcefully entered the community, resulting in the death of a member of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards. Additionally, two individuals were abducted during the incident.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen arrived in a car and proceeded to rob customers of their possessions, including mobile phones, cash, and two vehicles. The attackers also shot one of the officers of the Benue State Volunteer Guards at a checkpoint that had been set up to prevent the gunmen from escaping.
The injured officer was immediately taken to the general hospital for medical treatment. Sadly, despite their efforts, one person lost their life during the attack on the Ugba community.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Community Volunteer Guards, Ahokegh Terkimbi, confirmed the death of one person during the incident.
