Detectives have arrested a middle-aged man, Adeyemi Adekunle, for allegedly brutalizing his children.
The suspect, who resides at No. 20, Kolawole Street, Dopemu, allegedly locked up his four children in a room, after physically abusing them.
Trouble started for Adekunle after he found his eight year old son who was declared missing for two days.
It was gathered that the suspect, out of anger gave the boy the beating of his life when he was found.
According to police sources, in the process of the beating, the child incurred serious fracture.
“The suspect, Adeyemi Adekunle, of 20 Kolawole St, Dopemu physically abused his eight year old son, causing him serious fracture on both of his hands.
“When some neighbours tried to find out why he became physical with the little boy, the suspect said he gave him the beating of his life for leaving the house for two days.
“The little boy was reported missing on Saturday. He was found on Monday and because of this the man locked up all his four children in a room.
“The matter was reported to the police by the landlord of the house. When the police arrived the place they found all four children locked up in one of the rooms.
“The landlord told the police that the suspect and his wife who is the kids step mother have constantly assaulted and abuse the children,” the source added.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the arrest, said the case has since been transferred to the Gender office of the command Headquarters, Lagos.
Superintendent Dolapo said it is worthy of note that the man had consistently tried to do away with his children since he divorced their mother.
