Enugu Rangers have secured their seventh league crown as they soundly defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 4-0 in the last day of the Premier League at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The win ended the Enugu club’s 32 year wait for their seventh crown as they last won the tournament back in 1984.
A hat-trick from Chisom Egbuchulam and a goal from Osas Okoro gave the Enugu side the much needed victory at the stadium, which was filled to the brim.
The Flying Antelopes finished on 63 points from 36 matches, three points ahead of runners-up Rivers United, who beat Akwa United 2-1.
The match had in attendance the Executive Governor of the State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as other top officials in the state.
Enugu Rangers, who had won the league on 6 occasions, have now added one more to their tally to become joint record winners with Enyimba, who won their seventh title last season.
