37 suspected Internet fraudsters have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Oyo State.
The suspects were arrested at various locations in Ibadan, the state capital, and Oyo town, by operatives of the Ibadan zonal command of the agency.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed this in a statement on Monday.
The anti-graft agency’s spokesman explained that the suspects were arrested on Friday following intelligence on their alleged involvement in Internet fraud.
The suspects include Kehinde Ayoola, Adewale Samson, Adeniran Ayobami, Abiodun Olamide, Olaoye Bolarinwa, Ajibade Ayodeji, Babalola David, Fatunbi Oludotun, Abdusalam Ololade, Taiwo Olaoluwa and Oyewole Fred.
Others are Akinboade Jimmy, Oyewole Samod, Ishola Labayo, Ayinde Ridwan, Oladokun Akolade, Adebayo Basit, Adebayo Kudus, Popoola Ayomide, Oladoja Peter, Olakunbi Ayodeji, Khalid Mohammed, Salimon Sodiq and Oparemi James.
He said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
