Defamation: Halima Abubakar apologises to Apostle Suleman

Halima Abubakar, Nollywood actress, has formally apologised to the Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, for publishing derogatory comments against him. This apology follows a Federal Capital Territory High Court ruling in April 2024, which ordered the actress to pay the cleric N10 million in damages for defamation. Canadian lady sentenced to 11 years imprisonment for importing 35.20kg cannabis

A 41-year-old Canadian lady, Adrienne Munju, was on Wednesday convicted and sentenced to 11 years imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Lagos, for importing 35.20 kilogrammes of Canadian Loud (Cannabis Sativa) into Nigeria. Justice Dehinde Dipeolu who handed down the verdict also gave her an option of N100m fine on the two counts preferred against her by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
