Kebbi college provost’s residence set ablaze by students over extortion allegations

The residence of Alhaji Haruna, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Jega, Kebbi State, was set ablaze by protesting students with vehicles vandalised. The protest erupted over allegations that the college management extorted N23m from the students regarding index registration for 250 graduating students. Jigawa commissioner arrested in uncompleted building with married woman denies allegations

Auwal Danladi Sankara, Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, has refuted allegations of being involved in an illicit affair with a married woman. Earlier on Friday, the Kano State Hisbah Board confirmed Sankara’s arrest and detention in an uncompleted building, alongside a married woman. The board’s Director General, Dr Abba Sufi, stated that Sankara was arrested following a complaint from the woman’s brother-in-law, accusing him of improper conduct.
