The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was yesterday rocked by heavy explosion in Maitama, the heart of Abuja. Police Command has, however, urged citizens not to panic as blast was due to an over-heated refuse bin. A report by the International Energy Agency, IEA, has revealed that Nigeria’s national power grid has collapsed 46 times from 2017 to 2023. According to the report, Nigerians endured more nationwide blackouts in 2023, especially on September 14 when the grid collapsed due to a fire on a major transmission line. The IEA said Nigeria had grappled with recurrent power failures, totalling 46 grid collapses between 2017 and 2023. A letter said to have been jointly written by two cult groups, Neo-Black Movement popularly called Aye, and National Association of Airlords, also known as Eiye Confraternity, has surfaced online asking the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, in Ogun State, Oba Adewale Babatunde Ajayi, to forgive them of their wrongdoings.
