Nigeria records 727 fresh COVID-19 cases –NCDC

559 fresh cases of COVID-19 has been reported with five deaths in Nigeria on Thursday. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in its infections update published on its Facebook page on Friday. The additional 727 COVID-19 infections, on Thursday, indicated an increase over the 559 cases reported on Wednesday and was attributed to the third wave surge caused by the highly transmissible Delta variant and low vaccination rates across the country. Man beats father to death in Kogi

Muhammed Yusuf, a suspected drug addict, has allegedly beaten his father to death in Lokoja, Kogi State. It was learnt that the incident happened at their house at the back of St. Mary Primary School, Lokoja, on Wednesday. The deceased, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, was said to be in his late 70’s. The Lagos State Police Command has detained a woman, Jennifer Madueke, over a missing service pistol belonging to the Denton Divisional Police Officer, CSP Adegoke Akinlade.
