Bandits kidnap couple, two others in Ekiti, demand N10m

Four residents of Ajebamidele area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Wednesday, were allegedly kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday. Angry residents carrying placards trooped out in large numbers as early as 7am and blocked the busy Ado-Ikere Ekiti highway, leaving commuters stranded just as business activities were paralysed. It was learnt that the kidnap occurred in Goshen community in Ajebamidele, Ado Ekiti. Buhari sacks Agriculture, Power ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, relieved two ministers of their appointments. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Nanono, and his Power counterpart, Saleh Mamman, were sacked in a bid to reinvigorate the cabinet and consolidate legacy achievements, according to the President’s address during the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
