In a disturbing incident, the Edo State Police Command has taken into custody a 16-year-old boy on charges of defiling a two-year-old minor in Egba community, Uhunwonde Local Government. The arrest was confirmed by Edo Police State Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor.
The incident came to light when a report was filed, prompting swift action by the police. The young suspect was promptly apprehended as part of the ongoing investigation, led by the gender unit of the criminal investigation department.
Nwabuzor assured that once the investigation concludes, the suspect will face legal proceedings. The minor has admitted to certain actions but denied penetration, claiming he was unfamiliar with what came over him at the time.
